The local esports community has improved its structure when the Philippine Esports Organization (PeSO) recently received the go-ahead to operate as the official national sports association for the sport.
In an announcement posted on Tuesday, PeSO said that his application for accreditation from the Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) had been approved and that he is excited and determined to carry out his tasks aimed at advancing e-sports achievements in the Philippines.
Their tasks would include organizing events, promulgating sport rules, promoting and growing the sport through grassroots programs and other activities, and recruiting national players and coaches.
“I trust PeSO in their efforts to improve the Philippines through esports globally. And I congratulate you for being an associate member of the Philippine Olympic Committee! ”Said POC President Stephen Hontiveros.
PeSO, which is comprised of the country’s largest and most credible esports companies and personalities, including those from the Philippine National Esports Association, seeks to leverage its members’ longstanding esports experience by channeling it into a collective. Push.
The organization is backed by Smart Communications and has companies like Bren Esports, Gariath Concepts, Mineski Philippines, The Nationals, PlayBook Esports, Tier One Entertainment, TV5, and TNC Holdings in its group.
PeSO has protocols approved by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) as mandated by the International Esports Federation (IESF). PeSO has been an accredited member of the IESF since 2012.
The IESF is the only esports organization in the world that meets all the criteria established by the Global Association of International Sports Federations.

The first major PESO event for 2020 will be the Philippine Qualifiers for the IESF World Championships to be held in Israel in December.
