The Philippine Basketball Association (PSC) announced Thursday night that it will resume the 45th season in a bubble setting at Clark in Pampanga on October 9 with a double headed game.

In a statement, PBA Commissioner Willie Marcial said the games will be held at the University of Angeles Foundation Gymnasium, which was arranged to host arnis, sambo and wrestling during the 30.th Southeast Asian Games last December.

Marcial said the 12-member teams will begin training games on September 27, although the league awaits approval from the Interagency Task Force on the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases for collective training. Since then, the PBA players have trained individually or in small groups.

Marcia said that under the bubble, modeled after the National Basketball Association model at Disney World in Florida, players and officials will be accommodated at the Quest Hotel in Clark.

The itinerary of the teams would be strictly hotel-AUF Gym-hotel.

The bubble will last two months to complete the Philippine Cup that started with a single game: San Miguel Beer beat Magnolia, 94-78 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum, but was closed due to improved community quarantine due to the Covid-19 pandemic. . .

Marcial said those who violate the protocol will be fined P100,000 in addition to a one-month suspension without pay or a five-game suspension.
