“The commissioner has always stayed away from that question,“Said the friendly executive on the show hosted by former league commissioner Noli Eala.

But I tell you, it is about sixty-five million pesos what it will cost us ”.

In Thursday’s Zoom press, held after the meeting of the board of governors, Vargas and Commissioner Willie Marcial did not disclose the exact figures that the PBA will pay for the restart of the planned season in the bubble.

Vargas, however, said that Asia’s pioneer professional league will spend “a large sum of money” for this resumption of the tournament, which has been suspended since March not thanks to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

TNT Governor KaTropa also revealed that a large portion of the spending will go to room and board, although the league was able to get discounts, especially on the former.

Marcial has previously expressed his gratitude to Conversion and Base Development Authority President and Presidential Advisor Vince Dizon for helping with hotel and venue discounts.

The entire PBA delegation will be exclusively housed at the four-star Quest Hotel, while the games will take place at the University of Angeles Foundation Gymnasium, which is only a 10-minute drive from the hotel.

Fortunately, the league will not have to worry about COVID-19 testing inside the bubble. Vargas gladly shared that Clark will bear the costs.

“Ang pinakamalaking part of the cost is accommodation and food. But we got a lot of discounts on the spot. And in fact, thanks to Clark, even trials are now free. It could have been more than that. “
