The Magnolia Hotshots scored a much-needed victory at the expense of TNT Tropang Giga, 102-92, Wednesday night at the AUF Sports Arena and Cultural Center.
Paul Lee was at the forefront of the Hotshots offense, scoring 27 points built on four 3-pointers as his team achieved their third 2020 PBA Philippine Cup victory.
Magnolia’s Chris Banchero scored big baskets at the deciding moment, helping to keep his opponents at bay. He finished with 19 points, four rebounds and five assists.
TNT, which was at the end of a back-to-back, seemed lethargic in the middle quarters, but was able to hold out in the final period. However, they fell apart again in the latter part of the room.
Bobby Ray Parks, Jr. once again led the Tropang Giga in scoring, filling the stat sheet for a double-double performance of 29 points and 12 rebounds.
Jayson Castro, who played just 9:37 in Tuesday’s game, had 25 points and four assists. On the other hand, his team fell to a 6-2 record.
