Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, September 29) – Magnolia Pambansang Manok star Paul Lee has discovered a new skill for making coffee during the quarantine period.
When Lee entered the Philippine Basketball Association “bubble” for the resumption of his 45th season, he hopes to establish a coffee business there.
His vision resembles that of Miami Heat guard Jimmy Butler, who founded his own coffee shop within the National Basketball Association ‘bubble’, where he sells cappuccino, latte and other varieties of coffee for $ 20 a cup. .
“If my teammates and coaches will like my coffee, why not turn it into a business here in the ‘bubble’?” Lee told CNN Philippines’ Andrei Felix on Tuesday.
Lee shared that his roommate Jackson Corpuz was the only one who tried his coffee, which he approved of because of the taste.
The former University of the East Red Warrior said on a podcast that his brother, a barista, taught him how to make coffee. As a way to ease movement restrictions inside the PBA ‘bubble’, Lee added that he wants to learn latte art inside his bedroom.
Despite being away from his family during the two-month “bubble,” Lee said he is lucky to have the opportunity to continue playing basketball amid the pandemic.
“I am enjoying everything that is here in the ‘bubble’ and making the most of it. I am happy to be a part of this historic moment in Philippine basketball,” said Lee.
