MANILA, Philippines – The double murder case against police sergeant major Jonel Nuezca, who was caught on video shooting his unarmed neighbors, mother and son, on Dec. 20, will be opened and closed, according to the department. of Justice (DOJ).
Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra said the complaint for the murder of Sonia Gregorio, 55, and her son Frank Anthony, 25, was filed in court two weeks ago and prosecutors were awaiting the arraignment of the case.
Nuezca, who was assigned to the Parañaque police crime lab at the time, is currently being held at the Paniqui Municipal Jail while awaiting trial.
Nuezca was caught on video shooting his two neighbors during a fight in full view of several people, including his young daughter.
