MANILA, Philippines – The Tropical Cyclone No. 1 wind signal was lifted in all areas of the country on Monday as Tropical Storm “Rolly” moved west over the western Philippine Sea.

Pagasa said in its latest update that while Rolly maintained his strength, he is expected to leave the Philippines Area of Responsibility on Tuesday morning.

While it is predicted to remain a tropical storm, Pagasa said there is a “growing probability” that Rolly will weaken into a tropical depression due to “increasingly unfavorable conditions.”

At 10 am on Monday, the Rolly center was estimated based on all available data 195 kilometers west of Subic, Zambales.

While all warning signs are lifted, the meteorological office said occasional gusts will continue to be experienced in Batanes, the Babuyan Islands, the Ilocos region, the Cordillera administrative region and the northern part of Zambales.

Rough to very rough seas will prevail over the northern Luzon shores and the western shores of central Luzon.

“Sea travel is risky in these waters, especially for those who use small boats,” Pagasa said.

Meanwhile, moderate to rough seas will be experienced off the remaining shores of Luzon and the eastern shores of Visayas and Mindanao.

Pagasa advised small boat boaters to take precautionary measures when venturing out to sea.

“Inexperienced sailors should avoid sailing in these conditions,” he added.
