ONE: Big Bang II

A championship returned on Friday, December 11, with the previously recorded share of ONE: Big Bang II.

The six-fight card lived up to its name with some outstanding knockouts and incredible performances and was held at the Singapore Indoor Stadium. The event marked the middle of ONE’s campaign in December as they near the conclusion of 2020.

ONE: Big Bang II Summary

ONE Super Series action topped the night as the No. 3 flyweight Muay Thai contender Jonathan “The General” Haggerty fought Taiki “Silent Sniper” Naito.

The former world champion outpointed Naito on the scorecards to retain his place in the rankings and advance to another shot at gold in 2021.

The co-main event took place in the lightweight kickboxing division. # 1 ranked contender Nieky “The Natural” Holzken made it look easy against the # 5 ranked Elliot “The Dragon” Compton when he scored a magnificent knockout with a shot to the liver in the first round. A perfectly placed left hook left Compton unable to regain his composure to meet the referee’s count.

Although Holzken’s knockout was a beautiful thing, it was not the best of the night. That belonged to the heavyweight Rade Opacic.

On his ONE debut, Opacic scored a KO spinning heel kick on veteran Errol “The Bonecrusher” Zimmerman in his kickboxing fight.

In mixed martial arts action, Chen “the ghost” Rui looked outstanding in his first-round TKO victory over Ali motamed. He hit the Iranian with heavy blows along the circular wall and finished with a right uppercut in less than two minutes.

American Tyler mcguire beat a game Agilan “Alligator” Thani en route to a unanimous decision victory. The victory puts McGuire one step closer to getting another shot at the ONE World Welterweight Championship.

And in featherweight action, Kim “The God Who Fights” Jae Woong overcome Tetsuya “MMA Fantasista” Yamada with a TKO in the second round.

Yamada nearly secured an arm in the first round, but Kim’s defense proved too harsh, as did his superior control. From the top, Kim displayed outstanding terrain and strength and forced the referee to call action due to unanswered fists.
