The Ombudsman’s Office ordered the preventive suspension of several officials of the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) who were indicted for the alleged anomalous releases of funds from the Interim Reimbursement Mechanism (IRM) for a total of P2.7 billion.
“After a thorough consideration of the records, this Office finds sufficient cause to place the defendants under preventive suspension in accordance with Section 24 of the Republic Law No. 6770, also known as the Law of the Ombudsman of 1989 … ”, said the Ombudsman in his Consolidated Order.
Respondents are: Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Arnel de Jesus; Renato Limsiaco from the Fund Management Sector; The Senior Vice President of the Health Financing Policy Sector, Israel Francis Pargas; Area Vice President for Area II Gregorio Rulloda, Concurrent Vice President, PhilHealth Regional Office-National Capital Region (PRO-NCR); and Lolita Tuliao, PRO-NCR head office manager.
The other respondents were Imelda Trinidad de Vera-Pe, Gemma Sibucao and Lailani Padua.
The Ombudsman’s order arose from a complaint filed by the National Investigation Office – National Capital Region (NBI-NCR).
