MANILA, Philippines – OPM singer Ogie Alcasid announced Tuesday morning that his father, Hermino Alcasid Sr., passed away.
“I will miss you so much dad. My heart is sad to know that you are gone, but I am at peace because you are in the loving arms of our heavenly Father. I love you very much dad, ”she said in an Instagram post.
He did not mention the reason for his father’s death when posting.
Alcasid Sr., who was a lawyer, served as President and CEO of the National Petroleum Management and Development Corporation of the Philippines after his appointment by former President Benigno Aquino III.
Other Ogie celebrities in the music and entertainment industry expressed their condolences to the singer.
“I am so sorry to hear this. My condolences, ”read a comment from Concert Queen Pops Fernandez.
“I am sorry to hear of your loss. My condolences, @ogiealcasid and @reginevalcasid, ”said Zsazsa Padilla.
“Prayers for you and your whole family. May your father rest in peace, ”wrote the actor and mayor of the city of Ormoc, Richard Gómez.
Other prominent personalities such as Marvin Agustín, Gloc-9, Marjorie Barretto, Daniel Matsunaga and the announcer Bernadette Sembrano-Aguinaldo also extended their condolences for Ogie.
