MANILA, Philippines – NorthPort finally broke into the win column after beating TerraFirma, 107-96, in the PBA Philippine Cup on Saturday at AUF Sports Arena & Cultural Center in Angeles, Pampanga.

Christian Standhardinger bounced back from a poor performance last Wednesday with a 23-point, 12-rebound effort that left with five assists when the Batang spring stopped a four-game slide.

Kelly Nabong and Garvo Lanete added 18 and 14 points, respectively, from the bench, while Paolo Taha and Renzo Subido also posted double-digit starts with 12 points each for NorthPort.

The Batang pier fired full blast, shooting 53% from the field, including 14 of 27 from the center with Nabong, Subido and Lanete hitting at least three 3-pointers in the game.

With TerraFirma still looming, NorthPort hit three straight triples, two from Subido and one from Nabong, to stretch a five-point cushion to a 104-90 lead with just 1:40 to play.

While NorthPort was eventually able to advance, a victory remained elusive for TerraFirma, which is the only winless team left at 0-4.

CJ Pérez scored 25 points for the Dyip, which also got 19 points from rookie Roosevelt Adams.
