MANILA, Philippines – The University of the Philippines (UP) announced Tuesday that it will not conduct its annual UP University Admission Test (UPCAT) for freshmen entering the 2021-2022 academic year due to the continuing threat of COVID -19. pandemic.
“The University Councils (UC) of the eight constituent universities (UC) of the University of the Philippines System, as the higher academic bodies of the UC, unanimously decided that there will be no UPCAT for the admission of freshmen in the year Academic 2021-2022, ”the university announced on its website.
Due to COVID-19, the University Councils of the entire UP System unanimously decided not to conduct the UPCAT for the admission of students in AY 2021-22. Instead, the UP Admissions Office is modifying the admissions system for the next admissions year.
