No UPCAT for the 2021-2022 school year due to the COVID-19 pandemic

MANILA, Philippines – The University of the Philippines (UP) announced Tuesday that it will not conduct its annual UP University Admission Test (UPCAT) for freshmen entering the 2021-2022 academic year due to the continuing threat of COVID -19. pandemic.

“The University Councils (UC) of the eight constituent universities (UC) of the University of the Philippines System, as the higher academic bodies of the UC, unanimously decided that there will be no UPCAT for the admission of freshmen in the year Academic 2021-2022, ”the university announced on its website.

Instead, UP’s Office of Admissions is tweaking the admissions system for the upcoming admissions year, UP said on Twitter.
