Sorsogon Governor Chiz Escudero’s office certified a police report that exempted former Santo Tomas University coach Aldin Ayo from any legal liability after the infamous Sorsogon bubble.

In a document dated September 28, the provincial government said that it is “in line with the findings of said memorandum”, since Ayo and the Growling Tigers had “legitimate activities”.

Sorsogon city police reported that “no UST-authorized team basketball training was conducted at the home of Mr. Aldin V. Ayo, nor were there any prohibited basketball activities performed by his guests outside of his residence and within the jurisdiction of the province of Sorsogon. “

The memorandum also stated that all actions carried out by the team were performed in accordance with the health protocols and guidelines established by the IATF and the Joint Administrative Order Group (JAO).

Ayo and the UST Tigers have been under scrutiny for the past few months, resulting in the resignation of Ayo and UST athletic director Father Jannel Abogado, as well as the departure of seven players.

It also led UAAP to ban Ayo from the league indefinitely.
