CLARK FREEPORT – The North Luzon Expressway Corporation (NLEX) has thanked the Mayor of the City of Valenzuela, Rex Gatchalian, for allowing them to present their local traffic solutions.
Some of these solutions include reducing toll plaza congestion, managing RFID tag issues, and responding to drivers’ recharge requests.
To anticipate holiday travelers, NLEX had previously reopened cash lanes at all toll plazas on the highway network.
Among the immediate operational traffic solutions agreed are RFID tag installation transfer and account recharge transactions outside toll gates.
For existing RFID customers, NLEX has committed to adding new RFID toll lanes at Karuhatan and Mindanao toll plazas. This will allow current RFID users to have better access to the RFID lanes and improve their travel time.
To service other motorists who still need RFID stickers, the installation site at the Karuhatan toll plaza will be moved to the Santolan overpass area within the highway.
Meanwhile, the installation site at the Mindanao toll plaza will also be relocated about 500 meters inside the highway near the Que Grande overpass area.
Motorist requests to recharge accounts will be handled after the toll gates and will be processed after entry. It was agreed that these measures will minimize bottlenecks at Karuhatan and Mindanao toll gates and achieve more efficient use of limited road space, especially during peak hours.
In response to customer complaints regarding its RFID adhesives, NLEX Corporation committed to accelerating the ongoing adhesive replacement program and will drive implementation through targeted SMS text messaging to better reach customers. .
Additional traffic solutions are further improvement of traffic management operations, improvement of customer assistance in toll lanes, as well as acceleration of the communication campaign with the customer about RFID recharge.
Still to address potential traffic queues at toll gates during peak hours, NLEX also offered to implement “barrier” operations at all toll gates in the city of Valenzuela.
“The agreed traffic solutions address most of the concerns raised by the city government, and we are committed to working closely with the mayor’s office for the city of Valenzuela from now on,” NLEX Corporation said in a statement. .
