Neil Etheridge late save preserves Birmingham City win at Preston

NEIL Etheridge and Birmingham City defeated Preston North End, 2-1, for their second consecutive victory in the English Football League Championship at Deepdale Stadium in Preston, England.

Etheridge rescued the Blues with a save from Tom Barkhuizen’s shot in the 88th. CLOCK:

Etheridge’s latest effort preserved the Blues’ lead after substitute Gary Gardner supplied the lead goal in the 85th minute.

It was also the Blues’ first victory at Preston since 2001. Birmingham City are now 11th with 13 points, eight behind league leaders Reading.
