MANILA, Philippines – The Department of Justice (DOJ) ordered the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) to collect the cases and identify the perpetrators of the December 3 murder of Los Baños Mayor César Pérez.
In a memo dated December 4, but shared this Saturday, the Department of Justice (DOJ) ordered NBI director Eric Distor to carry out the investigation and, if the evidence warrants, present the corresponding cases. against the persons responsible for Pérez’s death.
The NBI was also required to submit periodic reports on the progress of its investigation to the DOJ within 30 days.

Pérez, included in the government drug cartel, was shot twice in the head inside the municipal hall at 8:45 pm.
The mayor’s brother, Ruel Pérez, was also shot three years ago in Barangay Maahas.
Polls by the Laguna provincial police are also investigating the case.
