Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, December 30) – Navotas City Mayor Toby Tiangco signed two ordinances granting a $ 10,000 service recognition incentive to regular and contract city employees.
In accordance with municipal ordinances nos. 2020-44 and 2020-45, the incentive only applies to the 534 regular employees and the 1,832 contract employees who have been working with the local government for at least three months.
“Our employees have been instrumental in our fight against COVID-19. Their commitment to fulfill their duties despite the risks allowed us to respond effectively to the pandemic and manage our COVID situation,” Tiangco said in a statement.
The city government also recently awarded $ 5,000 in cash assistance to each of the 208 members of Barangay Health’s Emergency Response Teams.
Last Monday, President Rodrigo Duterte issued an administrative order that will grant a one-time bonus payment, not to exceed $ 3,000, for government contract and work order employees.
Duterte also encouraged local government units to award bonuses to their informal workers.
