MANILA, Philippines – The legal team of the alleged queen of the pork barrel, Janet Lim Napoles, said on Saturday that they are seeking to file complaints against the Sandiganbayan judges, who “hastily” convicted their client of corruption and embezzlement of public funds.

According to the Naples lawyer, the lawyer Rony Garay, they took the matter with the use of “inadmissible evidence” that violated the law against cybercrime in the ruling of the anti-bribery court, which also convicted the former representative of the city of Cagayán de Oro, Constantino Jaraula. and several former government employees for corruption and embezzlement of public funds of 28 million pesos.

“The original decision that they later amended was clearly rushed and handed down at random and without serious consideration of Ms. Napoles’ pending motions,” Garay said in a statement.

Garay had previously filed the motion to reopen the trial and suppress the evidence derived from the testimonies of the complainants Merlina Suñas and Marina Sula, who said that the complainant Benhur Luy allegedly lied in all the testimonies.

Suñas and Sula also accused Luy of “training them to lie before the magistrates of the different divisions of the Sandiganbayan.”

The Naples camp also said it will prepare charges against the judges for “flagrant ignorance of the law, manifest bias and extreme bias.”

In a 103-page decision, the Sandiganbayan First Division found Naples and former government employees guilty of three counts of corruption and three counts of embezzlement.
