MANILA, Philippines – Calvin Abueva’s return to the PBA just got a big boost after the Board of Games and Amusements said he is scheduled to reinstate his professional license following a lengthy ban from the PBA.
Abueva will still need to do a few more things as required by GAB before he gets the long-awaited clearance to play again.
GAB President Abraham “Baham” Mitra said Abueva must undergo a seminar on the Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards of a Professional Athlete and sign that he will abide by it.
Abueva must also undergo a mandatory drug test as part of his medical requirements.

“Calvin Abueva regretted what he did and was sincere enough to accept his wrongdoing and apologized for his actions with the promise not to repeat the same mistakes and set a good example to the audience, especially the young fans. ”Mitra said. in a sentence.
GAB made the decision after having a dialogue with Abueva before the Phoenix forward arrived at Clark, Pampanga for the resumption of the 2020 PBA season inside the bubble.
Abueva has been serving his suspension since June 2019 after his verbal altercation with Maika Rivera, the girlfriend of Bobby Ray Parks Jr., and a physical fight against then-TNT importer Terrence Jones.
