More swab test inside the bubble; activities return to normal after disinfection
CLARK FREEPORT – Base LA Tenorio from Barangay Geneva, some PBA staff and members of the media underwent their second swab test on Thursday as part of the strict health measures being implemented within the bubble.
The procedure was more strictly performed a day after the league reported that a referee was found to be a “suspected case” of the deadly virus in his fourth RT-PCR test.
Hours later, he came back negative on the antigen test administered upon arrival at the mega quarantine facility in Capas, Tarlac.
Tenorio and the other 14 delegates had to wait in their respective rooms at the Quest Hotel for their turn in the swab testing area.
Alaska and Blackwater also had a second round of testing during the week after several players raised concerns about possible contact with the suspected case.
The RT-PCR test is performed on the entire delegation of 350 people every two weeks to ensure the safety and integrity of the bubble.
Except for a few late arrivals, all players and staff from all 12 teams have already tested negative on their second bubble swab test administered last week.
Meanwhile, the PBA has lifted the suspension of activities in the hotel after the total disinfection of the facilities.
Swimming, jogging and gym workouts were allowed again starting Thursday afternoon.
