Former Philippine lightweight champion Eduard Folayang was dominated by his taller Australian opponent in his comeback fight in ONE: Inside the Matrix on Friday night at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.

Folayang struggled to connect his attacks against 5-foot-11, Antonio Caruso, who knocked him down twice in the 3-round lightweight clash.

When the Filipino fighter got close in the first two rounds, Caruso used his superior ground game to pin Folayang.

Folayang was successful in landing some of his low kicks and right hands in the third when Caruso decided to face him in a standing position, but was shaken off with another right hook to the head.

The judges awarded Caruso a unanimous decision victory.

It was Folayang’s fourth loss in 5 games. He now has a 22-10 record.

The last time he won was by technical decision over Amarsanaa Tsogookhuu of Mongolia in November 2019.

The long break seemed to have affected Folayang, who was seen panting after dealing with Caruso in the first 2 rounds.
