NorthPort’s Robert Bolick and Blackwater’s Carl Bryan Cruz admitted to feeling mixed emotions over their absence from the PBA bubble.

Bolick (ACL) and Cruz (torn meniscus) have spent their quarantine days recovering from the injuries they sustained during the 2019 season.

Both players followed the advice of their respective orthopedic surgeons to opt out of the postponed Philippine Cup.

Speaking to the One Sports sports page broadcast Wednesday, Bolick said he was not in the best condition to work with fellow professional basketball players.

“I am fit to play. I can play. Kasi [halos] I will also be a year[ng] [injured]”Said Bolick, who also missed the last parts of the 2019 season.

“[But] I have to play ‘di naman’ to go to college or high school, these guys are professional players. “

Feeling helpless, physically, Bolick and Cruz are on a mission to cheer on their teammates at all times. But behind that support comes a feeling of jealousy due to the longing for the love of the game.

“Of course the number one nakakainggit talaga e,” said Cruz, who continues to receive therapy due to knee surgery to repair his torn meniscus.

“Of course you want to be there too. You want to be able to act. Number two, you really want to help them. “

Bolick, who was also sidelined from the bubble, echoed Cruz’s sentiments.

“I think it’s a bad trip,” said Bolick, 25. “Carl said he can help the team that way, whatever.”

“This happens for a reason, so accept lang namin. I am sure that by next year we will be completely cured. “

After the bubble season, Bolick and Cruz are expecting a solid comeback and most of the injured players are expected to return as well.

Apart from Bolick and Cruz, San Miguel center June Mar Fajardo (shin) and point guard Terrence Romeo (shoulder) also came out of the bubble.
