“The Professional Sports Summit exceeded our expectations,” Mitra said, adding that “during the beginning of the year when the pandemic began, the future of sports was very dark and with no hope in sight.”

“Who would expect that by the end of the year, and even in the midst of the pandemic, the GAB family would grow up and have to welcome and embrace more members of their Pro-Sports family,” lamented the former Palawan governor.

Mitra also emphasized that this year has been most fruitful for the agency, where they have been able to achieve so much with the help of their stakeholders, friends of the media and government agencies that they helped drive the sport’s resumption and continue to provide a livelihood. to the professional sports industry. He also praised Filipino fans, who with or without the pandemic, have continually provided love and support to the industry.

The one-day virtual event was divided into two parts, namely: the morning session that showed the different topics related to boxing rules, mental health and laws related to professional sports, among others. In the afternoon session, there was a live session, attended by different sports icons and national leaders.

This year’s event was dubbed “Leadership in Crisis” and aimed to gather ideas and best practices from high-profile professional sports leagues, such as the Philippine Basketball Association, Chooks-to-Go 3 × 3 Pilipinas, National League of basketball, volleyball Premier League. , Philippine Professional Chess Association and Philippine Soccer League, among others.
