One of the candidates in the 2020 Miss Universe Philippines beauty pageant tested positive for COVID-19.
Maria Isabela B. Galeria, who represents Sorsogon, made the reveal on Instagram on Sunday, September 27.
His admission came as the national beauty pageant kicked off its eight-episode series “Right Light,” which addresses the journey of the 50 nominees for the coveted crown. .
This is the first time that a candidate in a national contest has openly admitted that she tested positive for the virus.

“With such sadness in my heart, I regret to inform you that I tested positive for COVID-19 rtPCR. This news breaks my heart deeply and I apologize if I ever put you at risk.
