MANILA – “Hello, Stranger” actress Vivoree Esclito showed her singing and dancing talents, transforming into pop superstar Sarah Geronimo in the pilot episode of the new season of “Your Face Sounds Familiar” that aired Saturday.
Esclito, 20, was assigned to perform Geronimo’s smash hit “Tala,” in an attempt to impress judges Gary Valenciano, Ogie Alcasid and Sharon Cuneta.
During his performance training, coach Nyoy Volante reminded Esclito of Geronimo’s “intensity” during his numbers, with his quick movements combined with the emotion appropriate to the lyrics of the song.
Vocal coach Jed Madela, meanwhile, gave Esclito advice on Geronimo’s vocal styles, such as his “hikbi” or high-pitched breathing in some performances.
For his actual performance, Esclito wore the same costume as Geronimo during the memorable “Big Felling Day” in January 2020.
In addition to Esclito, the celebrities competing on this season of “Your Face Sounds Familiar” are Geneva Cruz, Jhong Hilario, Klarisse de Guzman, Christian Bables, CJ Navato, Lie Reposposa and the iDolls trio Lucas García, Matty Juniosa and Enzo Almario .
The Philippine version of the global format debuted in 2015 and has since staged a total of four seasons: two regular editions and two “Kids.”
“Your Face Sounds Familiar” is available to watch on free digital television (channel A2Z 11), cable (Kapamilya channel), free live streaming (Kapamilya Online Live), and on-demand streaming (iWant TFC).
