Now is the perfect time to talk about who is really the best offensive player between Michael Jordan and the best current shooting guard in the NBA, James Harden.

With ESPN kicking off its 10-part documentary series, “The Last Dance,” on Sunday, there is no better time to discuss questions about the Houston Rockets and Michael Jordan. Among those questions is this: Who is the best offensive player between Michael Jordan and the NBA? Current Best escort, James Harden?

Although Jordan retired after the 2003 NBA season and Harden is still at his best, I am going to base this argument on Jordan’s overall career and Harden’s career up to this point.

There are a couple of things to keep in mind. One is the evolution of the game in general. The style of play at both ends of the ball has changed dramatically.

From the 1990s through the early 2000s, NBA teams played hard on both ends of the court and fired a variety of different shots. While the league today plays less defense and relies heavily on 3-ball and layups. All this will be taken into account so that this is as fair as possible.

I’m going to compare both players in different aspects of the offense, which will be: cut, mid-range game, 3-point game, ball handling, shot creation and passing.
