MANILA – Meralco scored his first victory of the Philippine Basketball Association season after defeating Alaska, 93-81, on Wednesday night at the University of Angeles Foundation Sports and Cultural Center.
The Bolts pulled away for good after opening the fourth quarter on a 12-0 streak as they rejected a third-quarter rally from the Aces.
Allein Maliksi scored 17 points on 6 of 9 shooting, four rebounds, two assists, two steals and a block from the bench for Meralco.
Baser Amer added 15 points, three rebounds and three assists.
Jeron Teng scored 25 points on 9 of 11 shots, seven rebounds, two assists and one steal, but it wasn’t enough as Alaska fell to 0-2.
