MANILA – Craving for pancakes and coffee from McDonald’s? The fast food chain now offers these and other “cook-it-yourself” ingredients to go and take away at select locations around the country.
In a statement posted on its website, McDonald’s said the products aim to “help customers access food ingredients that they can comfortably cook / use and enjoy at home.”
He assured that the products “are on par with the regular offers that we serve in our stores”, but added that “the flavor may vary depending on how the products are cooked / prepared.”
In addition to the hotcake mix and coffee grounds, other cookware packages McDonald’s currently offers include hotcake syrup, tonkatsu sauce, mayonnaise, fudge topping, and caramel topping.
Prices range from P99 for an 80 gram package of ground coffee to P399 for a 2 kilo bag of ice cream. The list of branches where these products are available can be found here.
When asked why he is no longer selling ready-to-cook chicken cuts at its branches, McDonald’s said: “We rotate the products that will be available to customers in our stores. However, you can check out select SM Markets (hypermarket, supermarket, Savemore) and Waltermart supermarkets for frozen Cook-It-Yourself products. ”
As for frozen burgers, he said, “As much as we want to offer more items, we currently have a limited inventory to make this happen.”
