Manila, Philippines – Maria Ressa, executive director of the news portal Rappler, has asked the Makati Regional Court of First Instance to dismiss the second cyber complaint against her by businessman Wilfredo Keng in a screenshot that Ressa posted on Twitter.

Prosecutors found probable cause to indict Ressa for a second cyberlibel case on November 10 and brought the case to court on November 23. The motion to annul will be heard on December 11 at 10 am.

The first cyberlibel complaint was filed in a Manila court by Keng in 2017. Ressa is currently facing seven cases and has been banned from leaving the country without permission while on bail. —JODEE A. AGONCILLO
