Manny Pacquiao wore various hats during the Good Friday commemoration, acting as a field commander, boxing disciple, outfielder, and later in the day, father of five children and Jinkee’s husband.
His hours at his Dasmariñas Village residence while he was quarantined for the past three weeks has largely revolved around these.
But after making some calls regarding efforts to combat the COVID-19 pandemic and help those who need help, Pacquiao dressed to train.
Pacquiao then wrapped his hands as if preparing to train at Freddie Roach’s Wild Card Boxing Club in Hollywood.
After hitting the heavy bag, Pacquiao did a few squats as one of his aides, Choi Garcia Ascue, wandered around recording all of his boss’ moves from shadow boxing to plyometric exercises.
Then came the most interesting part of the day.
After his brief training session, Pacquiao grabbed the water hose and started soaking the plants, something he had never done in a long time due to his busy schedule as a politician and elite fighter.
But due to the absence of domestic staff, all of them housed at his other property in nearby Forbes Park, Pacquiao is charged with some of the responsibilities.
And when night fell, Pacquiao, 41, took it upon himself to feed Israel’s youngest son, showing Manila Bulletin in a video called how the family spends dinner time in the COVID-19 era.
As uncertainty lurks around every corner, Pacquiao is doing his best to stay active and busy as a public servant, athlete, and family man.
The good thing about the blockade is that Pacquiao can spend precious time with his wife and children, something that was a luxury when the term “coronavirus” was not yet known to all of humanity.
