Manny Pacquiao feels like he can fight twice in 2021

Manny Pacquiao believes two fights are feasible in 2021.

Pacquiao is the WBA (super) welterweight champion. He captured gold in July 2019 with his split decision win over Keith Thurman. The victory extended Pacquiao’s winning streak to three.

While Pacquiao is a world champion, he is also a senator in the Philippines. Those duties have forced Pacquiao to rule himself out of returning to the ring in the first quarter of 2021.

However, fear not. Pacquiao told the Daily Tribune that he thinks it is feasible to fight twice next year.

“We still have sessions in March, so there is no way for me to fight during that time. I think I can do two (fights) next year. “

One of Pacquiao’s aides, Choi Garcia, discussed the possibility of “PacMan” fighting behind closed doors due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Garcia isn’t convinced Pacquiao will have a fight without fan assistance.

“I just don’t see him fight without the participation of the crowd. Draw energy from the crowd. “

Garcia added that the details about Pacquiao’s upcoming fight are simply hearsay at this point.

“Nobody knows when his next fight will be.”

Much has been made of a possible boxing clash between Pacquiao and former UFC “champion-champion” Conor McGregor. The “Notorious” sparked the conversation when he claimed that he would be fighting the WBA Welterweight Champion in the Middle East. McGregor also revealed that he took a rematch with Dustin Poirier as he wants to fight a southpaw before facing Pacquiao.

Pacquiao also has two welterweight champions knocking on his door. Errol Spence Jr., WBC and IBF champion, has expressed interest in sharing the ring with Pacquiao. WBO Champion Terence Crawford also wants to throw leather with “PacMan.”
