MANILA, Philippines – The Manila Cathedral has finally reopened to the public after six months of closure due to the new coronavirus pandemic.
According to an announcement Monday, the Eucharistic celebrations in the minor basilica will resume from Sept. 16, allowing only a maximum of 80 people per Mass on a first-come, first-served basis. Face shields and masks are required.
There will be Masses Monday through Friday every 7:30 am and 12:10 pm; Saturdays (7:30 am) and Sundays (8 am, 10 am and 6 pm). The Cathedral is also open for private prayers from 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
All Masses will continue to be streamed live online via the official Facebook page and YouTube channel of the minor basilica.
On Sundays, the parishioners of the Manila Cathedral can stay in the Plaza Roma, where they can also receive communion.
