MANILA, Philippines – 2020 was a busy year for Malaysian R&B singer-songwriter Yuna.
He came up with “Invisible”, the unlikely sequel to one of his hit songs, included one of his songs in Apple Music Malaysia’s Top 100 Songs, and broadcast a concert live from one of Asia’s largest aquariums, Aquaria KLCC.
Not only that, he also released “Dance Like Nobody’s Watching”, his most recent single available in December. All of your hard work is now paying off.
In early January, Dance Like Nobody’s Watching reached 1 million views on Spotify, with more than 200,000 views coming from the Philippines.

A poignant bop, Dance Like Nobody’s Watching, or DLNW, talks about finding peace by being comfortable in your own skin. It encapsulates the message of fully loving yourself, without depending on anyone else, in a catchy, danceable melody that inspires one to stand up and move.
“DLNW is a song about dancing your heartbreak.” Yuna shares. “It is based on my personal experience after going through a heartbreak. I never thought of it that way like, ‘hey, you can turn on your favorite song and dance to push your feelings away.’ I finally found a love for dance and it was very liberating. “
Aside from her initial viral success online, Yuna is also known for her single “Crush,” which was recorded in collaboration with Usher. He then performed in Manila for the first time at the Wanderland Music and Arts Festival in 2017.
Yuna also garnered a total of 49.9 million streams of her music on Spotify, as seen in her Spotify Wrapped artist figures. At the moment, the Philippines remains the main country to broadcast DLNW.
