A Makati city court allowed Rappler CEO Maria Ressa to travel to the United States to visit her parents on vacation. Makati Regional Trial Court (RTC) Section 147 Judge Maria Amifaith Fider-Reyes granted the travel motion filed by Ressa camp during a hearing on Tuesday. But Ressa still needs approval from three other courts where it has pending cases. The Pasig RTC and the Tax Appeals Court handle two separate tax cases, while the Appeals Court has yet to decide his conviction for cyberlibel issued by the Manila RTC in June. The Makati RTC did not set any bond for Maria Ressa’s trip abroad. –Dexter Cabalza
