Lean falls to Nakatani
Philippine boxer Giemel Magramo failed in his bid to win the vacant World Boxing Organization (WBO) flyweight title with an eight-round knockout loss to Jojo Nakatani of Japan on Friday night at Korakuen Hall in Tokyo. , Japan.

Nakatani, a southpaw, has now won his second straight match against a Filipino fighter after defeating former two-division world champion at Milan Melindo in six rounds on October 5, 2019.
The setback ended the seven-win streak of Magramo, an Elorde Boxing Stable fighter with Johnny and Liza Elorde, after his first loss to Pakistani Muhammad Waseem on November 27, 2016.
The title fight finally happened after five postponements in the last eight months, mainly due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The title fight was originally set on April 4, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it was moved to June 6, then July 4, August 1, and then August 26. The Japan Boxing Commission ultimately chose to do so.
