Luis Manzano has spoken after a jewelry company claimed it did not receive adequate credit for Jessy Mendiola’s engagement ring.
The actress had tagged Manila Diamond Studio on social posts about her engagement, which was announced on Saturday, December 12. Mendiola is an ambassador for said company.
However, the diamond ring company Radiant Jewelry issued a statement yesterday, December 13, in which it claimed that its team were the “original creators” of the ring.
“It’s unfortunate that a company hints at a job for something it didn’t do,” he said. “We feel the need to inform the public that this is our job. We are the original creators of the engagement ring for Jessy Mendiola and Luis Manzano ”.
“In our opinion, taking credit for something they didn’t do is detrimental to the industry that [has] ring makers who put their heart and soul [into] its pieces. Such a post or advertisement is highly misleading and unethical. “
He also showed a video of Manzano receiving the ring in the comment section of his Facebook post.
Manzano went to the comments section of the statement on Instagram to air his version. “While Radiant helped us get the main stone, we had a completely different setup, [add-ons] and design done [through] @maniladiamondstudio “.
“So yeah, the design Jessy is wearing now is her own design and @maniladiamondstudio.”
The presenter added that the “final design” “was not Radiant’s.”
Some Instagram users were skeptical of Mendiola designing her own ring and were shocked about it.
Manzano simply said: “[That’s] why our proposal is unique! Soon the full story in the vlog! On how was our proposal / history of the ring. “
The couple celebrated their fourth anniversary last June. The proposal took place in October, they told ABS-CBN News on Saturday, December 12, and they announced it with a photoshoot in Amanpulo, Palawan. JB
