MANILA, Philippines – Operations of Metro Rail Transit-3, Light Rail Transit-1, Light Rail Transit-2 and Philippine National Railways were suspended on Thursday as Typhoon Ulysses continues to devastate parts of Luzon, according to the Department of Transportation ( DOTr).
“Rail operations of MRT-3, LRT-1, LRT-2 and PNR are suspended today, November 12, until further notice, due to Typhoon #UlyssesPH,” DOTr said in its 6 am advisory.
“We will advise the resumption of rail operations once all system checks have been completed and approved,” he added.
Government meteorology specialists previously warned that Typhoon Ulises will bring destructive winds and heavy to heavy rains over the central and southern parts of Aurora, the northern part of Quezon, including the Polillo, Nueva Ecija, Bulacan, Tarlac, Pampanga, Pangasinan, Zambales, Bataan, Metro. Manila and Rizal in the next three hours.
Ulises continues to strengthen after making landfall for the third time in Quezon province this morning.
