LOOK: Kai Sotto ‘impressed’ by Gilas Pilipinas in the Bahrain bubble

MANILA, Philippines – Kai Sotto liked what he saw in the youngsters who represented Gilas Pilipinas in the second window of the 2021 FIBA Asian Cup qualifiers in Bahrain last month.
Speaking to the media at a virtual press conference on Wednesday (Manila time Thursday), Sotto said he was proud of the cadet lineup that beat regional rivals Thailand twice in the playoffs.
Sotto, who is currently in Walnut Creek, California with his Ignite NBA G League team, said the performance gives him hope for a bright future for Filipino basketball in terms of competing internationally.
The hoops prospect said in the same interview that there is a “higher probability” that he will be part of the Gilas Pilipinas pool in the third window.
Clark, Pampanga will host Gilas Pilipinas and the rest of Group A and Group C of the playoffs in February.
