BLACKPINK appeared as a guest on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!”

On October 20, BLACKPINK starred in the popular American late-night talk show “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” as the first K-pop girl group to do so. Through a live video chat, the group talked about their fans and their latest release, “THE ALBUM.”

During the interview, Jimmy Kimmel spoke about the group’s fame and whether it was difficult for them to go out in public. Rosé and Jennie explained that as long as they were well covered and disguised, it wouldn’t be a problem to go outside. Jennie added: “It’s a big secret, but we wear caps and hoodies to cover ourselves.”

Rosé explained that they chose the name BLACKPINK because the two colors better represent the group. She mentioned her song “Pretty Savage” and shared, “We are very feminine, but at the same time, we are also very wild.” Also, when asked about her favorite phrase in English, Jisoo chose “It’s a shame”.

The members also talked about attending an arts and performance school. Rosé commented that although she was initially excited to give up the regular subjects, later she thought it would have been nice to have learned those subjects as well. He added that they had to learn many languages, such as Korean, Japanese, English and Chinese.

While performing at Coachella, Jennie talked about how they enjoyed watching Coachella performances as trainees. Lisa mentioned that she was also very excited to see Jaden Smith and was surprised to see her father Will Smith rapping on stage. Finally, Jennie spoke about how excited the group was to learn that they would be collaborating with Cardi B for her new album.
