It may have been dubbed the thinnest house in London, but there is nothing thin about the asking price of the house that is for sale for $ 1.3 million.

At just 1.6 meters at its narrowest point, the five-story house in Shepherd’s Bush, west London, used to be a hat shop before fashion photographer Juergen Teller made it a home in the decade 1990.

It has a “bit of London magic,” says David Myers of Winkworth Estate Agents, and despite being slim, it still has two bedrooms and a bathroom, plus a garden and rooftop terrace.

“The house is just so special because of how unique it is,” Myers said.

“There are no houses in London that are 5 feet 6 inches. There are houses in London that are five stories tall but they don’t have such a unique space, so much individuality and the history that comes from this house.

“Of the owners who have owned it in the past, everyone has put their own stamp on it. It’s a bit of London magic.

“It is elegant, it is beautiful, and that is why this house will be sold to someone who is artistic, bohemian, a young couple or a person who sees beauty for what it is and will buy it and see the value.”

The home may not be for everyone, but the character of the home reflects its price, which amounts to $ 11,700 per square foot.

“The reality is, how many people can live in this space and use this space for themselves? The answer is that there are a limited number of people,” Myers said.

“Simply put, you are buying something completely unique. Therefore, many parts of the people of London will use the pound per square meter mark and use it as a benchmark to determine property values.

“It doesn’t always work that way. When you have something as individual as this, the price has to reflect on that.”
