“I think the vaccines will be announced very soon, and I think you will see big companies advertising these vaccines,” Trump said. “And I think you are going to hear very good news. And also, for me, maybe even better, I think when it comes to therapy.”

Trump said he had spoken with Pfizer on Friday. A day earlier, the CEO of the company said he should have enough data to know if his product works by the end of October.

“As far as we are concerned, they are very close to announcing great news,” Trump said later. “The vaccines will come out soon and the therapy continues.”

Along with Pfizer, Trump said he has spoken with the bosses of Johnson and Johnson and Moderna, who are also working on a coronavirus vaccine.

“We have tremendous talent, some tremendous scientists, and they are there,” he said.
