The ITV star has been updating fans of her husband’s condition through social media while caring for her children Darcey, 14, and Billy, 10, at home, while Derek remains seriously ill in hospital. .

But he continued more grimly: “She’s with her family and keeps it cross, obviously, because Derek is still seriously ill, but we just want to say happy birthday, Kate, however you can celebrate today.”
