Kate Garraway cannot spend her birthday alongside her husband Derek Draper as she continues her fight against the deadly coronavirus.
The Good Morning Britain hostess, who turns 53 today, sadly can’t be with her other half who have been in the ICU since March after catching the mistake.
The ITV star has been updating fans of her husband’s condition through social media while caring for her children Darcey, 14, and Billy, 10, at home, while Derek remains seriously ill in hospital. .
In Monday’s issue, GMB co-host and friend Kate Ben Shephard, who is replacing Piers Morgan after the open presenter revealed he was showing signs of coronavirus, yelled at Kate in the air as he sent her wishes birthday.

Kate, who has been married to Derek since 2004, also received a series of kind messages online as her fans rally behind her support for the show as she goes through the difficult and uncertain times.

A second added: “Happy Birthday Kate: The best gift you can have right now is Derek back home with you and the children safe and secure. There is a lot of love for you here, Kate, and we are all with you X.”

“I am also so grateful for our amazing #nhs who do so much for Derek every day; it is wonderful to see all the support for them and our key workers every Thursday.
“We can’t thank them enough, can we? So brave.
“Send love to everyone during this horrible time, particularly to all those who struggle for whatever reason, none of this is easy.
