Evander Holyfield has further fueled the possibility of an incredible trilogy fight with Mike Tyson by describing it as a “win-win-win”.
Holyfield announced last week that he is making a return to boxing at the age of 57 in exhibition matches for charities. That came immediately after his 53-year-old great rival Tyson, who shows incredible speed and power in a training video, and announces that he’s open to fighting for charity, too.
When asked by Sky Sports News if that could mean the couple would meet again, 23 years after their infamous second fight, in which Tyson bit part of his rival’s ear, Holyfield said: ‘I don’t know, you would have to! ask him! I wouldn’t ask anyone to do anything they don’t want to do. But it is for charity. If we can solve something that works for everyone, then it is win-win-win. ‘

Despite Tyson’s biting off a piece of his opponent’s ear at this infamous moment during his second fight in 1997, Holyfield is open to boxing his former rival again with both of them over the age of 50.
The pair met twice in two famous encounters in the 1990s, which saw Holyfield knock out his rival in their first fight before their infamous second fight.
Nicknamed ‘Bite Fight’, the fight is best remembered by Tyson biting a piece of Holyfield’s ear during the contest. Tyson was eventually disqualified after biting Holyfield on two separate occasions.
Despite receiving such a barbaric injury, Holyfield now appears to be ready to box Tyson once again despite the fact that both are now in their sixth decade.
“When people look at me, I know they are looking at my ear,” said Holyfield. People think I have bitten my whole ear!

‘Tyson and I were on the losing team trying to make up the Olympic team in 1984, that tells you how hard amateur boxing was in my day.
‘When Tyson became the world heavyweight champion, I realized I could do it.
“Tyson and I had trained and he was a tough guy even back then, when he was 17 and I was 21.”
Holyfield’s announcement on their platforms was accompanied by a film montage.

Holyfield’s post on his Instagram account continued: ‘I am training to promote a charity that is very close to me. Our # Unite4OurFight campaign aims to fill the void that the pandemic has created about access to the resources our youth need for emotional development and education. ‘
The ‘Real Deal’ has not fought since hanging up its gloves after beating Danish fighter Brian Nelsen by TKO in 2011.
At his peak, Holyfield was the undisputed champion of the heavyweights after moving up from cruiserweight, where he had also reigned supreme.
Holyfield’s announcement comes just days after he hinted that he could prepare for a surprising return to the boxing ring after a cryptic Twitter post.
He posted a photo Monday that showed a picture of him growling, along with the word ‘return’ in capital letters on top.
He also wrote a mocking legend, which read: ‘A setback only paves the way for a return.’
Holyfield’s post comes just days after Tyson revealed he is training before his return.
Tyson, meanwhile, has said he is “ready to go to war again” as he continues to train before a possible return to the boxing ring.
Having retired 15 years ago, he has been using the current closing period to train with MMA coach Rafael Cordeiro.
Holding the record for the youngest world heavyweight champion in history at the age of 20, Tyson has announced plans to return in exhibition bouts to raise money for charities, and believes he is in good condition before a delicious return this year.
“That’s all I’ve been doing, getting in shape,” Tyson said in a live feed #PlayApartTogether on Facebook.

A video of Tyson hitting the pads with terrifying speed and power, seemingly without diminishing his glory days, went viral earlier this month and has since revealed that he would like to participate in a four-round exhibition match.
The American has also been linked to fights against New Zealand rugby legend Sonny Bill Williams and Britain’s Danny Williams.
The footage came a week after Tyson revealed he wanted to return to the ring for a four-round exhibition fight in an attempt to ‘earn some money to help some homeless and drug-affected mother like me.’
