MANILA, Philippines – The new Ignite NBA G League team is rich in diversity with more than a few international players on its roster.

Including Kai Sotto from the Philippines himself, Team Ignite will be served by Princepal Singh from India and Jonathan Kuminga, who is of Congolese descent.

Kuminga recently spoke to the media about the impact of having such a diverse mix of nationalities in his lineup.

“They are all talented and great players. They all come from different parts of the world, so just being around them, I learn non-stop almost every day,” Kuminga said at a virtual press conference on Thursday.

Having been around them for some time, Kuminga praised their chemistry, with different types of basketball styles colliding and molding them into more effective players.

And just like any other sports team, Team Ignite’s youngsters like Sotto, Singh and Kuminga, along with the team’s veterans, have slowly but surely built a bond as they await the decision on the new G League season.

“I enjoy being around them no matter what. It makes me happy to be around them, it’s like they are already family,” Kuminga said.

Kuminga, Sotto, Singh, along with prospects Jalen Green, Isaiah Todd and Daishen Nix, are part of the G League’s premier career program, where they will attempt to develop their skills to enter the NBA after a year with Ignite.
