Training outside Evolve MMA In Singapore, “The Panda” Xiong Jing Nan (熊 竞 楠), 32, from China, is still ONE’s world strawweight champion. For the fourth time, China’s first world mixed martial arts champion successfully defended her ONE Championship belt.
Tiffany “No Chill” Teo, 30, from Singapore, challenged Xiong in “ONE: Inside the Matrix. “ONE Championship held the MMA event at the Singapore Indoor Stadium in Kallang, Singapore on October 30, 2020.
Both Xiong and Teo are 165cm tall. The Singaporean challenger is training outside Singapore Top Team.
“ONE: Inside the Matrix” featured six MMA matches, four of which are title fights. It was the first sporting event in Singapore to allow a limited live audience since it moved into the second phase of its reopening amid the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
The title fight between Xiong and Teo was the third fight of the night. Yuji shimada served as referee.
He went the distance and after five rounds of five minutes, the title fight was left to the three judges. In the end, Shimada raised Xiong’s hand, who was declared the winner by unanimous decision.
Winning in “ONE: Inside the Matrix” improved Xiong’s professional MMA record to 15 wins and 2 losses. On the other hand, Teo now has 9 wins and 2 losses.
A total of 12 countries were represented in “ONE: Inside the Matrix”, namely Australia, Cambodia, China, India, Italy, Moldova, Myanmar, the Netherlands, the Philippines, Singapore, the United States and Vietnam. Xiong represented only China, while Teo was one of two representatives from Singapore.
