Gilas Pilipinas’ pool for the second window of the 2021 FIBA Asian Cup Qualifiers has been reduced to 14 players.
This since Allyn Bulanadi has been ruled out for the matches to be played in Manama, Bahrain, from November 27 to 30.
“Yes, he was injured and,Gilas Pilipinas head coach Jong Uichico said when asked by Power & Player if the team would bring Bulanadi to Bahrain.
The team departs Inspire Sports Academy on Sunday and will immediately head to the airport.
Last Tuesday, the 6-foot-2 swingman dislocated his right shoulder during Gilas practice.
With Bulanadi out, Gilas will only eliminate one more player, as the national team will rotate 14 players when they face Thailand on the 27-30, Korea on the 28th and Indonesia on the 29th.
“We are sixteen at the moment but Allyn was injured so now we are fifteen. Actually fourteen lang ang dadalhin namin”Uichico added.
The remaining players are Isaac Go, the Nieto twins, Rey Suerte, Jaydee Tungcab, the Gomez de Liaño brothers, Dwight Ramos, Kobe Paras, Justine Baltazar, Dave Ildefonso, Angelo Kouame, William Navarro, Calvin Oftana and Kemark Carino.
However, Kouame’s naturalization is still being processed.
