MANILA – Derek Ramsay believes he will eventually find the “right one,” following his controversial breakup with Andrea Torres, his former co-star and girlfriend of a year.
Ramsay, 44, spoke candidly of his newfound single status Thursday, in his responses to comments on his latest Instagram post.
The photo, which shows Ramsay posing shirtless, generated comments that praised his physical condition, but also those that brought up his separation from Torres.
“Nice body but no woman lasts you,” commented one follower.
Ramsay replied, “I’ll find the right one, my dear,” with the clasped hands emoji, usually indicating prayer.
In a later comment, another follower interpreted Ramsay’s answer to mean “Andrea is not the right one.”
“No, she deserves better,” Ramsay replied, with a thumbs-up emoji.
Since his breakthrough into show business in 2001, Ramsay has had several relationships developed in the public eye. He was previously with actresses Angelica Panganiban, Solenn Heussaff and Cristine Reyes, as well as model Joanne Villablanca.
Ramsay confirmed his last break with Torres in November, emphasizing that there were no third parties involved.
“The break-up has happened very quickly,” Ramsay said at the time. “Maybe two people just aren’t meant to be. Respect us nalang. We share our love with all of you. Sana naman, we can keep this to ourselves. “
Recently, in September 2020, the two seemed to be on good terms and in fact agreed in an interview that they were “ready” to get married.
