AGUA Caliente Clippers jeopardized G League Ignite’s playoff offer after delivering a 116-111 stunner Wednesday at AdventHealth Arena in Orlando (Thursday Manila time).
Jalen Green kept the select team within two, 110-108, with a three in the final 54.6 seconds, but Amir Coffey stretched the lead to four, 112-108 with a pair of gifts with 44.3 ticks remaining.
Green sped up a three on subsequent possession, prompting Malik First to freeze the game with four free throws in the final game to break Agua Caliente’s six-game losing streak.
The loss left Ignite in eighth place at 7-6, the select team now needing to sweep its last two assignments to advance to the postseason.
Brandon Ashley led the select team with a game-high 26 points on 12 of 15 shooting, along with nine rebounds, three steals and two assists, as they suffered consecutive losses.
Green, who is of Filipino descent, had a better start this time with his 20 points, six rebounds, five assists and two steals, while NBA veteran Amir Johnson had 16 points and five rebounds.
Making the loss more difficult for Ignite was losing Congolese guard Jonathan Kuminga to an apparent leg injury early in the fourth period after he scored seven points and five rebounds in the game.

Ignite will hope the injury is not as serious as it will turn its attention to the Rio Grande Valley Vipers on Thursday.
Jordan Ford led Agua Caliente with 22 points, five assists and four steals, while Coffey had 21 points built on five 3-pointers as the Clippers also ran 4-9.
