Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, December 4) – The country’s COVID-19 task force issued a resolution on Friday requiring the use of the StaySafe contact tracing app and its QR code in all establishments and public transportation.
The Inter-institutional Working Group for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases adopted the recommendation of the Cabinet Secretary, Karlo Nograles, to implement the Security Seal Certification Program in all government offices, private companies, hotels, commercial establishments and transport units public to show that it is disinfected. and sure. The new guidelines on contract tracking were contained in the recently published IATF Resolution No. 87.
To ensure the Security Seal, these establishments, offices and USP units must adopt the use of the StaySafe application and display their QR code at all visible entrances or places.
In November, the IATF directed national government agencies and local government units to use StaySafe, the government’s preferred contact tracing app, to track the contacts of COVID-19 patients.
Roughly two million Filipinos have signed up to the platform, while around 3,000 businesses have also signed up to use the locally developed app as their digital logbook.
The government launched StaySafe in April to enhance contact tracing efforts to contain the spread of COVID-19. The platform, which can be accessed through its website stayafe.ph or downloaded to smartphones, requires users to register via their mobile phone numbers. Like a health declaration form, they will be asked to choose which of the COVID-19 symptoms applies to them to determine their health status.
The IATF directed the Department of Commerce and Industry, the Department of Health, the Department of Labor and Employment, the Department of the Interior and Local Government, the Department of Tourism and the Department of Transportation to issue joint guidelines.
