VOLLEYBALL star turned beauty queen Michele Gumabao capped her pageant career with a video that told it all.
Gumabao became the talk of the town last week due to her notable absence during the official announcement of the winners, after she finished second in this year’s Miss Universe Philippines pageant.
The former La Salle standout said that ‘rumors and lies’ that circulated online led her to break her silence, which the 28-year-old did through a 24-minute video titled “This is my statement, this is my story!”
“I’m not sharing this to attack anyone, I just want to share the truth so I can move on,” began his video posted on his own YouTube channel.

Gumabao said the pressure increased for her early on, revealing that she fainted at home due to sheer fatigue three days before the contest. He suffered a cut to his face and a broken toe from the fall, Gumabao added.
The attacker said she managed to join the contest by rehabilitating at home.
Gumabao considered herself a ‘strong woman’, but admitted that there were things that happened on the day of the contest that she couldn’t handle, the reason why she asked to leave even before the official announcement of the winners.
Gumabao organizers regretted that they knew the reason he left before the winners were announced (he revealed anti-anxiety at the time after ‘I heard things I wasn’t supposed to hear’), but never bothered to leave in your defense.

Speaking, Gumabao said that he has found a new purpose.
“As a true queen, we are not only fixing crowns, we should fix society, social problems and the future, because we can,” Gumabao said. “It will affect the future of pageantry.”
In a final plea, Gumabao asked people to stop spreading toxicity online.
“I choose to take a stand, choose to use my voice. This may be my purpose, not to wear a crown of jewels, but a crown of thorns … People should appreciate beauty pageants for what it is, you do. No I know what happens behind the scenes, ”he said.
